What We Do

The Dakota Rangers have been entertaining polka lovers for over 30 years. They primarily play in North and South Dakota. They bring with them lots of enthusiasm and fun during their performances.

Earl Mehlhaff is the accordion player and has been playing accordion since the age of 16. He was influenced by his grandfather and uncle. Earl is the Executive Vice President of the Campbell County Bank in Herreid. Earl resides on a farm 4 miles southeast of Eureka with his wife Letty.

Randy Becker, the drummer is a lifetime resident of Ashley, North Dakota. Randy started playing drums with his father back in 1974. He has played with several bands throughout his career, including the Moonlighters, and now the Dakota Rangers. Randy is currently self-employed with West Side Heating and Air. Randy lives on a farm 2 miles west of Ashley,ND along with his wife Eva.

Dennis Walker, guitar and vocals is the newest member of the band and joined us in 2018. Dennis has played in various bands throughout his musical career. Dennis and his wife Margie live in Eureka, SD.

The Dakota Rangers musicians bring with them over 100 years of playing experience. They play a variety of music, from Polkas to Waltzes and Two Steps, and are well known for their cajan tunes. The band also does alot of vocals to entertain the crowd.

Our Business

The Dakota Rangers is an energetic musical group that is destined to keep your toes tapping and fingers snapping. We have a great time entertaining people and interact with the crowd.

We also have 3 Cd's for sale at this time, the titles are "Just For Fun" ,  "Lets Have a Party", and "A Time To Dance".
